Abstract

The rapid development of stochastic screening initiated a project at EFPG to study the efficiency of a classical pre-press proof system to predict the press image from this new kind of screening technique. Technical parameters like pre-vacuum duration, UV exposure time were varied to determine the best conditions for identical results with both conventional and stochastic images. Various stochastic systems were tested. Valuable observations on compensation techniques allow us to appreciate the fit between the proof and the print.
