Abstract
Issues which currently prevent a fully objective definition of colour reproduction between different media are discussed and how algorithms used in Graphic Arts overcome these problems. Advantages and disadvantages of this approach are compared and a brief review of work being undertaken to produce more objective methods given. Issues raised by this work are discussed.
