Abstract

Sensitizing, spectral sensitizing, and desensitizing for safelight or storage are concerns in photographic and photomechanical materials. For photomechanics a new dimension in research is added by analogies between radiation chemistry and photo- chemistry. Important trends in photochemistry and radiation chemistry since 1924, especially since 1948, are covered in a tutorial bibliography designed to assist future research in the graphic arts, especially in photopolymerization, photoelectrostatography, and other unconventional photographic, photomechanical and photoreproduction techniques, including solid-state systems.
