The Development of the PDI Electronic Dot Generation System.

One of the most difficult areas in preparing color separations for the printing processes is the conversion into the halftone mode. This paper deals with the development of a purely electronic system for the simultaneous conversion of color copy into the four screened color separations. This process produces screened images of finer resolution than can be produced by any other known scanning/screening technique.
