Abstract

With increased use of colour tints it is important to look beyond the measurement of solid patches for trap. This research focuses on the measurement of trap by means of tint overprints. Nine different overprint patches of solid 75% tint and 50% tint were measured. As well, the densities were varied in order to establish the effect of trap. Our test showed that the solid overprint patch is the most dependable for trap measurement. It was found that the lower the percentage tint, the less dependable the results. However, our data indicates that the 75% over a 75% tint patch did provide accurate enough results to be used.
