Abstract

The sixteen main steps in the indirect screen system are considered, starting with the original and proceeding through the preparation masking, separation, retouching, and finally, the viewing of the reproduction steps. Emphasis is placed on applying the fixed tone-reproduction concept to reproducing average transparencies and reflection copy and standardizing the halftone positive separation step by the use of a fixed screening filter with a magenta contact screen.
