Abstract
After receiving a citation from the Los Angeles Air Pollution Control District for contamination of the air in the Los Angeles Basin, the Los Angeles Lithographic Company began to thoroughly research solvent recovery systems. A system of vacuum distillation and carbon regeneration through adsorption and condensation was investigated and eventually installed. Manufactured and marketed by Oxy-Catalyst, the system works with 85 percent efficiency and its energy requirements are considerably less than comparably-sized gas-fired afterburners.
