Abstract
This paper presents a survey of some of the aromatic nitrogen compounds that find application as sensitizers in graphic arts processes. These compounds can be divided into three main categories: diazonium salts, organic azido compounds and quinone diazides. This review includes a description of the photochemical reactions involved in the photolysis of these compounds and their use in the free radical initiated chain reactions.
