Abstract

This paper presents data and discusses the degree to which printing inks vary from batch to batch in tack, roller tack-stability, plastic viscosity. and yield value. It describes the Theological specifications and tolerances needed for ink consistency control. Without proper control. some inks vary in viscosity and yield value up 10100 percent or more from batch to batch. In conjunction with this study. The variation in tack reading of eight different inkometers is also considered and the correlation between them is explained.
