Abstract
Colorants are reviewed for (1) paper, (2) inks and marking materials, (3) photography including dye-sensitization, (4) and other graphic arts applications. Tables keyed to the Color Index are given which include 1,000 most commonly used dyes and pigments. One-hundred selected references are given that cover the bulk of the literature. New and unusual materials and methods are mentioned.
