Abstract

Screen concepts which include conventional flat and rotary methodology are well-known to the graphics industry. The performance characteristics of these systems present distinct limitations, which curtails their applicability. The evolvement of a new unique high speed rotary screen system provides a breakthrough when compared to the conventional systems and offers certain advantages when compared to flexographic or gravure systems. Topics discussed include: Topics discussed include: Review and comparison of existing systems Galvanic screens, i.e., the electrofoam process and properties of high mesh screens The MRS printing system print characteristics Applications The development of the MRS printing system is a new and unique process which provides distinct performance advantages when compared to other systems, such as high print resolution, controlled uniform ink deposition, coverage, frictionless application, and minimizes downtime to provide distinct cost savings.
