Abstract

This paper deals with the use of a photographic color print (specifically Kodak RC-14) as a quality assurance tool. It is a prepress continuous tone proof which has become an invaluable aid in the preparation of films which are intended to produce rotogravure cylinders having very good color fidelity. At the same time, considerable savings are enjoyed in less film retouching and cylinder re-etching. The nature of the photographic print material, exposure, development and its use in the production chain will be covered.
